Power of Conversation

The first thing to understand about Face to Face is that we believe in the power of conversation. And unfortunately, safe, open, and honest discussion is largely missing at our county high schools. Our goal is to strengthen our school communities by discussing topics that are important to all of us. Every other Tuesday, a Face to Face meeting takes place in Pine View’s Student Union and we would love for them to take place at all high schools across Sarasota County. We’ve created a fun, welcoming setting to discuss important and interesting topics. When you come for the first time, you’ll eat food, meet new people, and share ideas about issues that affect all of us in high school.

Diverse and interesting conversation

We had 34 high-school students at our last meeting ranging from freshmen to seniors. Face to Face was just started last May [2012] and is growing fast. We’d love to have an even larger number of students. It makes the conversation much more diverse and interesting.

Finding solutions

It’s a wonderful place where, with the help of a group of people, you can learn about other people’s viewpoints and find a solution to problems that today’s teenagers face.
